Morris Academy's learning resource centre is a great place for all of our students to learn and grow. Our library provides print material suitable for our K-4 readers including easy picture books, levelled readers, fiction, non-fiction, chapter books, and most recently - graphic novels.
Last spring, we were able to buy several new books as a result of our Book Fair. Thank you to our parents for the tremendous support of this event. Based on the resulting enthusiasm of students, this year should prove to be an exciting year of reading! I am looking forward to hearing about everyone's favourite books and reading many book reviews !
Volunteers in our library are always welcome and appreciated greatly. Consistent help is needed with book exchange, shelving books, repairing books, setting up displays and cataloging. Once a year, several volunteers are recruited to help organize and manage the Scholastic Book Fair. Please contact me at [email protected] or by contacting the school office if you would like to assist at any time. Helping in the library is a wonderful way to connect with our children and to make our school a better place. We would be delighted with any contribution you are able to give.
Stay tuned throughout the year for updates on new books, Book Fair announcements, and student book reviews. I am looking forward to a great year in the resource centre!
